De Jong explained the anecdote at a press conference. “First, I asked him about his situation here, but I think the guys were happy not to think about it. He was telling me to join Liverpool and he was trying to convince me.”<\/p>\n
The Dutchman did not want to position himself, and he explained that he is focused on the World Cup.<\/p>\n
“I feel very good at the moment, but right now I’m not thinking about Barcelona, we’re here at the World Cup. I think it’s the biggest stage in world football.
