Xavi Hernandez, coach of the Spanish team Barcelona, is close to being dismissed from his position following the historic loss he suffered in the Super Clásico to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid won the Spanish Super Cup, with a landslide 4-1 victory over its rival Barcelona, in the match that brought them together at the First Park Stadium, on Sunday, in the final match.
Barcelona is experiencing difficult months with Xavi this season in terms of results and performance, especially with the team trailing 7 points behind Real Madrid and 8 points behind Girona in the Spanish League table.
In light of this, some published press sources reported that Deco, the sporting director of the Spanish FC Barcelona team, nominated some names that could succeed Xavi if he is dismissed from coaching the Catalan team.
Sprott newspaper indicated that Barcelona President Joan Laporta is still providing support for Xavi to continue in his position, but the coach knows that his stay is linked to some things, the most important of which is winning the upcoming tournaments to ensure support and confidence from the players.
The newspaper added that Deco suggested the name of “Thiago Motta,” coach of the Italian club Bologna, to succeed Xavi, whose dismissal is approaching day after day, especially since the two have had a special relationship since they got along when the two were playing for Barcelona.
Motta is performing well with Bologna, as he currently occupies seventh place in the Italian League, only two points behind the places that qualify for the Champions League next season.
