English press reports revealed today, Monday, that the professional Liverpool club, including the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, has identified a potential replacement for coach Jurgen Klopp, in the event of his departure from leading the Reds in the coming period, as he is among the candidates to take over as coach of the German national team, succeeding Hansi Flick.
The English newspaper “The Sun” reported that Liverpool had settled on a replacement for German coach Jurgen Klopp, who is former team player Xabi Alonso, the current coach of the German team Bayer Leverkusen.
The newspaper added that Liverpool identified Alonso as the appropriate replacement if Klopp leaves coaching the team, especially since the former team player has a secret agreement with Bayer Leverkusen that gives him permission to leave the club whenever he wants.
Yesterday, reports revealed that the German Football Association dreams of appointing Jurgen Klopp, the current Liverpool coach, as coach of the German national team.
The German Football Association had announced the dismissal of Flick after a 4-1 friendly loss to Japan, marking the third consecutive loss for the German national team.
The English newspaper “Daily Mail” reported that although the German coach has an attractive personality in his homeland, there is no desire to leave the Reds at the present time.
“The job of national coach would be a great honor – there is no doubt about that,” Klopp said previously when asked about his association with the German coach. “The problem that stands in the way of the whole thing is my loyalty. Basically, it is an interesting job.”
