Press reports revealed today that Real Madrid, led by Florentino Perez, is monitoring a historic deal from one of the Premier League giants in the upcoming summer transfers.
According to information received from some Spanish newspapers, Real Madrid is monitoring Virgil van Dijk’s situation in Liverpool, after the possibility of the Dutch international player’s departure along with Jurgen Klopp at the end of the current season.
Klopp revealed last week that he would leave Liverpool’s coaching staff this summer, and Van Dijk’s comments following the surprise announcement indicate that the Dutch international is considering his future at the club.
Van Dijk has since insisted his words were “taken out of context”, with the centre-back remaining fully committed to Liverpool.
However, the 32-year-old’s contract at Anfield is set to expire in the summer of 2025.
According to the newspaper “Defensa Central”: “Real Madrid is monitoring the position of Dutch star Virgil van Dijk in order to sign him next summer to strengthen Real Madrid’s defense line.”
Al-Sahia added: “The player may decide to leave because of his great connection with German coach Jurgen Klopp, and after Klopp’s departure, which is expected at the end of the season, Van Dijk may decide to leave as well.”
