Barcelona’s Memphis Depay’s future could lie at Sevilla, who have intensified the search for a No.9 to help heal their serious problems in front of goal, according to various media outlets in the Andalusian capital.
Monchi, Sevilla’s sporting director, has already contacted the Dutchman’s entourage to sound out the possible incorporation of the Barça frontman in the January window.
Sevilla hopes to convince Memphis to join them on a free transfer, even though he has a deal with Barça until the end of the season.
Depay has played only 3 matches with Barcelona since the start of the season, 116 minutes in the Spanish League during two matches, and participated in only 15 minutes in the Champions League.
Sevilla are willing to pay Memphis’ salary demands, although the striker demanded €7 million net last summer to accept the offer he had on the table from Juventus.
In recent contacts with Barça, the Dutchman’s attorneys have demanded to collect the remainder of this year’s salary to leave Camp Nou for free in January.
